A Year of Transitions Beginning
The following accomplishes my meeting of a goal -It’s been an interesting year so far. As the year started one of my clients approached me to say goodbye. It was a very nice, mutual meeting and I wished him well. One that I usually contact each year, I didn’t this year. And, one that lived in another country, I assured her that she no longer needed to file taxes. She still calls me when she has questions or needs advice. All of this was the good since I desired to slow down my business, to change avenues, go new directions. But alas, trouble was brewing ahead for a client I did not want to lose. That business is not lost so far, but he too wishes to go in new directions and it does affect me. That story isn’t finished yet and I am praying (for his sake) that it will bloom into something wonderful and profitable.
I started the year
out by doing a writing exercise. It actually turned out better than
I was expecting and I was pleased. Then I was busy with my work and
hubby and didn’t get any further on it. There are so many things I
want to accomplish this year and yet it seems as though there is not
enough time even with the reduction of work for pay and volunteer
work.
We got great news in
January that we were going to receive another grandchild and four
days ago Eve delivered a healthy baby boy, weighing 8 lbs 10 oz.
Both mom and baby are healthy.
I took care of a
dear lady who was losing her memory for nearly four years and in
December or January I wrote to her children and told them that I was
going to have to find her a new home with assisted living care. The
daughter surprised me and called me saying that she would take her
into her home. So in April my dear lady moved to Maine with one of
her cats that later died. Then I had the joyous job of cleaning out
her apartment. There was so much that she wasn’t able to take with
her. I think I had three weeks to clean and, with help, finished two
days before deadline.
My Home League group
has also kept me busy. And now we prepare to move everything because
our Corps administration building with all the classrooms will be
closed for removal of asbestos, repairs and remodeling. I need to
move all our Home League supplies and the church library and stock
out before the end of August.
And my friend had to
get out of his business location by the end of July.
This is a lot of
moving that I’ve been involved in this year.
Two of our
granddaughters have come to stay with us this summer. One has come
for a month and a half. The other for one week. Her week was while
the first one was at camp. We had a lovely time with them both, but
one and a half months is too long!
There has been more
happening, of course. I then I’ve had to see the dentist and
doctor multiple times, oh and multiple doctors. That is
time-consuming.
This coming Saturday
we will all travel north. We are going to see the new grandchild.
Yay!

adorable grandchild :D
